COCHIN (2 NIGHTS)- THATTEKAD (1 NIGHT), MUNNAR (2 NIGHT), THEKKADY (2 NIGHT), KUMARAKOM (2 NIGHT)

Day 1: Cochin
Arrive in Kochi. You will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel. If Kerala is India's most beautiful state, which many believe, then the lovely port of Kochi is its jewel..
Day 2: Cochin
Eplore Fort Cochin in a walking tour today. The highlight of today’s walking tour will be the St. Francis Church and Chinese Fishing Nets. After the walking tour you will be taken to visit the Jewish Synagogue and Mattancherry Palace. Walking 2-3 hours

Day 3: Cochin - Thattekkad
This morning we drive to Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary. This afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of the bird sanctuary. A trip through this sanctuary is a bonanza for any birder with its over 270 species in a small area of 25 sq km. Walking 2-3 hours.
Day 4: Thattekkad - Munnar
Post breakfast, we drive to Munnar. After lunch we will walk through a tea plantation and see tea pickers going about their job. Walking 2-3 hours.
Day 5: Munnar
After breakfast this morning we head for an invogarating trek through the majestic Western Ghats. Picnic Lunch included. Many tribal colonies here farm spices such as cardamom and pepper, which grow abundantly in the salubrious climate. Walking 4-6 hours.
Day 6: Munnar - Thekkady
Today we drive to Thekkady. Later in the afternoon we will go for a spice plantation walk. Accompanied by a guide we will be taken on tour of the cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla, pepper, coffee and other spices. Walking 2-3 hours
Day 7: Thekkady
Today we head to Periyar Wildlife Reserve for a nature walk. This will be an interpretive programme offering excellent opportunity to watch birds, butterflies and other wildlife. Afternoon will be free. Walking 3-4 hours
Day 8: Thekkady - Kumarakom
Today we drive to Kumarakom. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour in Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which is set in the Kerala Backwaters and is a favourite haunt of migratory birds. Walking 2-3 hours
Day 9: Kumarakom
. Today explore Kumarakom in walking tour- visit local farms, temples and coir factories. The region is a hub of Kerala’s coir industry. The factories still practice the traditional method of extracting coir fiber from coconut husks. Walking 4-5 hours
Day 10: Kumarakom - Cochin Airport
This morning you will be driven to Cochin airport (2.5 hour) for your onward flight. If you need pre / post tours to other parts of the country, please write to us and we will be happy to assist.INCLUSIONS:

Trip Notes:
- The best time to walk-trek in this region is between January to mid-April and mid-September to December.
- High levels of fitness are not required to do this program. You can set your own pace making the walk 'easy' or 'moderate'. However, you need to be in general good health and used to walking
- Essentials in your bag - Strong sunscreen, sunglasses, lip-balm, insect repellent, personal medication and a hat to ward off the high daytime UV.
